Dasu, Pakistan – Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, on Monday, assured foolproof security measures for Chinese nationals working on the Dasu Hydropower Project and reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring exemplary punishment for the perpetrators of the March 26 Bisham incident. Speaking at a gathering of Chinese nationals involved in the power project, he condemned the cowardly act of terrorism that resulted in the loss of lives of five Chinese nationals and one local individual.
Prime Minister Sharif expressed deep condolences to the families of the victims and emphasized the unwavering friendship between Pakistan and China. He vowed to strengthen security measures to prevent future such incidents, ensuring the safety of Chinese nationals across the country. Federal ministers, Chairman WAPDA Lt Gen. (retd) Sajjad Ghani, Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong, and senior officials were also present at the event.
WORK OF ENEMIES
Describing the attack as the work of enemies of Pakistan, Prime Minister Sharif emphasized the need to thwart attempts to undermine the strong bond between the two countries. He reassured the Chinese leadership of Pakistan’s commitment to providing comprehensive security arrangements for Chinese nationals and families.
The Prime Minister highlighted the prompt response of the government to the incident, including the formation of a joint investigation team and a high-level security meeting. He pledged to swiftly implement the recommendations of the inquiry committee to prevent such incidents in the future.
Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong expressed appreciation for the Prime Minister’s visit to the embassy and the reassurance of security for Chinese nationals. He thanked the government and people of Pakistan for their solidarity and reiterated China’s commitment to strengthening strategic partnership with Pakistan.
The gathering observed a 30-second silence in remembrance of the lives lost in the tragic incident. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s assurance of security measures underscores Pakistan’s commitment to safeguarding the interests of its international partners and maintaining peace and stability within the region.
