PKR INTERBANK RATE: Friday’s interbank trading, the value of the Pakistani rupee (PKR) increased by 20 paisas in relation to the US dollar, finishing at PKR 284.97 from PKR 285.37 a day earlier.

OPEN MARKET RATES: The Pakistani Rupee remained constant in the open market as exchange companies offered the dollar at 283.5 for buying and 286.5 for selling.

Exchange companies quoted the dollar at 283.5 for buying and 286.5 for selling in the open market, up from the previous day’s closing of 284 for buying and 287 for selling. As a result, the local unit gained 50 paisa.

PKR AGAINST MAJORE CURRENCIES

The PKR appreciated 1.87 rupees versus the Euro relative to major currencies, closing at 310.5 as opposed to 312.37 earlier.

The British Pound closed at 360.05, down from 362.18 the previous day, a decrease of 2.12 rupees.

The Swiss franc closed at 325.88, down 90.37 paisa from the previous session’s closing of 326.78.

PKR gained 1.82 paisa against the Japanese Yen, closing at 1.922 versus 1.94 the previous day.

The Chinese Yuan closed at 39.8829, down 10.36 paisa from the previous session’s close of 39.9865.

The Saudi Riyal ended the day at 75.97, down 4.58 paisa from its closing value of 76.01 the previous day.

The value of the U.A.E. Dirham dropped from 77.653 to 77.597 a day ago, a loss of 5.6 paisa.
