DOLLAR TO PKR: The Pakistani rupee (PKR) appreciated by 10.24 paisa against the US dollar in Tuesday’s interbank session, settling at PKR 278.4 per USD, compared to the previous session’s closing of USD to PKR 278.5 per USD.
EXCHANGE RATES IN OPEN MARKET
In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 278.50 for buying and 280.50 for selling.
PKR EXCHANGE RATES AGAINST MAJOR CURRENCIES
- Against the Euro TO PKR, PKR gained 58.42 paisa, closing at 301.17 compared to the previous value of 301.76.
- The British Pound GBP TO PKR became cheaper by 47.91 paisa, closing at 356.39 compared to 356.87 from a day ago.
- The Swiss franc TO PKR saw losses of 1.38 rupees, closing at 309.83 compared to 311.21 from the previous session.
- Against the Japanese Yen TO PKR, PKR gained 0.06 paisa, closing at 1.7301 versus 1.7307 a day ago.
- The Chinese Yuan TO PKR lost 2.57 paisa, closing at 38.28 against 38.31 from the previous session.
- The Saudi Riyal TO PKR closed at 74.22 with a loss of 2.73 paisa from its value of 74.25 a day ago. (SAR TO PKR)
- The U.A.E Dirham TO PKR decreased in value by 2.68 paisa from 75.8 a day ago to 75.82. (AED TO PKR)
YEARLY PERFORMANCE
During the current financial year, PKR has depreciated against the Dollar by 5.88 paisa or 0.02%. However, in the current calendar year, PKR has appreciated by 3.46 rupees or 1.24%.
MONEY MARKET UPDATE
In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates inched up by 1 bps to 19.85% and 20.1%.
