Pakistan has reiterated its determination to bring to justice those responsible for the tragic terrorist attack in Bisham, which resulted in the loss of five Chinese nationals. Speaking at her weekly news briefing in Islamabad, Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch emphasized that this heinous act was carried out by individuals seeking to undermine the strong bond between Pakistan and China.

Addressing the media, Baloch stated firmly that such malicious attempts would not deter the collaborative efforts aimed at fostering the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and advancing mutual cooperation between the two nations. She underscored Pakistan’s unwavering resolve to thwart any efforts aimed at sabotaging the longstanding relationship between Pakistan and China.

Highlighting the deep-rooted friendship between Pakistan and China, often referred to as “Iron Brothers,” Baloch reaffirmed both countries’ commitment to jointly combatting terrorism and defeating extremist elements. She assured that Pakistan remains dedicated to ensuring the safety and security of Chinese nationals, projects, and institutions within its borders, emphasizing the bolstered security measures in place for their protection.

Responding to queries regarding Pakistan-India trade relations, the Spokesperson reiterated Pakistan’s stance, noting the trade deadlock since 2019 following India’s unilateral actions in the illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir region. Baloch emphasized that Pakistan’s position on this matter remains unchanged.

Baloch also voiced concerns over reports of Indian authorities planning to auction lithium resources discovered in the illegally occupied territory of Jammu and Kashmir. She condemned such actions as illegal and exploitative, stressing the imperative for India to respect the rights of Kashmiris to their land and natural resources.

Expressing dismay over the continued Israeli aggression in Gaza, despite calls for an immediate ceasefire by the UN Security Council, Baloch urged the international community to pressure Israel to halt its brutal onslaught against the Palestinian people. She emphasized the urgent need for Israel to lift its inhumane siege on Gaza and facilitate humanitarian assistance to alleviate the suffering of civilians in the region.
