The latest statistics released by the All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) reveal a mixed performance in the textile export sector for March 2024.
Year-on-Year Growth: The country’s total textile export witnessed a notable increase of 3.17% Year-on-Year (YoY), reaching $1.3 billion compared to $1.26 billion in March of the previous year.
Monthly Decline: However, on a monthly basis, exports experienced a decline of 7.14% Month-on-Month (MoM), falling to $1.3 billion from $1.41 billion recorded in February 2024.
9MFY24 Performance: Within the first nine months of the fiscal year 2024 (9MFY24), textile exports totaled $12.44 billion, showing a slight decrease of 0.32% YoY compared to $12.48 billion in the same period of the previous fiscal year (9MFY23).
Overall Exports: March’s total exports witnessed a marginal decline of 1.08% MoM, amounting to $2.56 billion compared to $2.58 billion in February 2024. However, on a YoY basis, exports surged by 7.99% compared to the $2.37 billion reported in March 2023.
