  • Intraday Movements: The index initially plunged, hitting an intraday low of 71,781.96 points, down by 2,080.97 points from the previous close. However, it rebounded to an intraday high of 73,902.79 points, before settling at 73,754.
  • Trading Range: The KSE-100 index traded within a wide range of 2,120.82 points.
  • Volume: The total volume of shares traded on the KSE-100 was 208.56 million.

PERFORMANCE OF INDEX COMPANIES:

  • Advancers and Decliners: Out of the 100 companies on the index, 40 closed higher, 53 closed lower, 5 remained unchanged, and 2 were untraded.
  • Sector Impact: The index was dragged down primarily by Commercial Banks (-240.44 points), Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (-93.11 points), Food & Personal Care Products (-34.48 points), Oil & Gas Marketing Companies (-26.9 points), and Refinery (-17.66 points). Conversely, the Cement sector (+75.79 points), Fertilizer (+63.33 points), Pharmaceuticals (+55.84 points), Engineering (+44.74 points), and Automobile Assembler (+37.61 points) provided support to the index.

NOTABLE COMPANIES:

  • Top Negative Contributors: MEBL (-127 points), PPL (-53.16 points), HBL (-36.79 points), MCB (-30.89 points), and OGDC (-27.93 points).
  • Top Positive Contributors: FFC (+68.15 points), MTL (+44.81 points), SYS (+29.2 points), SEARL (+24.84 points), and DGKC (+23.57 points).

BROADER MARKET OVERVIEW:

  • All-Share Index: The broader market also reflected the recovery, with the All-Share index closing at 47,464.93, a net loss of 205.67 points.
  • Volume and Value: Total market volume matched the previous session at 352.74 million shares, with the traded value increasing to Rs12.31 billion, up by Rs7.87 billion.
  • Trade Count: There were 191,137 trades reported across 449 companies, with 134 advancing, 248 declining, and 67 remaining unchanged.
