The Pakistani rupee (PKR) witnessed a marginal depreciation of 4.76 paisa against the US dollar. The currency settled at PKR 279.64 per USD, compared to the previous session’s closing rate of PKR 279.59 per USD.

During the trading session, the PKR reached an intraday high (bid) of 279.9 and a low (ask) of 279.4.
Moreover, in the open market, exchange companies quoted the buying rate for the US dollar at 280.5 PKR, while the selling rate stood at 281.5 PKR.
PKR AGAINST OTHER MAJOR CURRENCIES, THE PKR EXPERIENCED THE FOLLOWING CHANGES:
- Against the Euro, PKR lost 51.28 paisa, closing at 302.98 PKR compared to the previous rate of 302.46 PKR.
- The British Pound became more expensive by 77.34 paisa, closing at 355.4 PKR in contrast to the previous rate of 354.62 PKR.
- The Swiss Franc saw gains of 1.85 rupees, closing at 324.15 PKR compared to 322.3 PKR from the previous session.
- Against the Japanese Yen, PKR lost 0.02 paisa, closing at 1.8917 PKR versus 1.8915 PKR from the previous day.
- The Chinese Yuan gained 0.52 paisa, closing at 38.95 PKR against 38.94 PKR from the previous session.
- The Saudi Riyal closed at 74.57 PKR with a gain of 1.27 paisa from its value of 74.56 PKR a day ago.
- The U.A.E Dirham increased in value by 1.3 paisa from 76.14 PKR a day ago to 76.12 PKR.
Note: During the current financial year, the PKR has appreciated against the US dollar by 6.35 rupees or 2.27%. In the current calendar year, the PKR has appreciated by 2.22 rupees or 0.79%.
In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates slightly increased by 3 basis points to 20.45% and 20.7%.
