The Pakistani rupee (PKR) depreciated by 09 paisa against the US dollar in Wednesday’s interbank trading, closing at Rs 278.74 compared to the previous day’s closing of Rs 278.65.
OPEN MARKET DOLLAR RATES REMAIN HIGHER
In the open market, the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP) reported the buying and selling rates of the dollar at Rs 279.3 and Rs 280.5 respectively, showing a higher value than the interbank market.
EURO AND POUND STERLING MOVEMENTS
The Euro experienced a slight decline, falling by 14 paisa to close at Rs 301.43, down from Rs 301.57, according to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP). Conversely, the British Pound saw a decrease of 40 paisa, trading at Rs 357.77 compared to the previous day’s closing of Rs 358.17.
JAPANESE YEN AND GULF CURRENCY RATES
The Japanese yen appreciated by 06 paisa, closing at Rs 1.85. Meanwhile, the exchange rates for the Emirates Dirham and the Saudi Riyal both increased by 02 paisa, closing at Rs 75.88 and Rs 74.29 respectively.
