During the session, the currency’s intraday high (bid) was recorded at 278.9, while the low (ask) was 278.65.

Open Market Rates

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 277.75 for buying and 280.50 for selling.

Performance Against Major Currencies

  • Euro (EUR): PKR lost 88.59 paisa, closing at 298.45 compared to 297.56 previously.
  • British Pound (GBP): PKR depreciated by 30.89 paisa, closing at 352.6 versus 352.29 from the previous session.
  • Swiss Franc (CHF): The currency saw losses of 83.64 paisa, ending at 311.75 compared to 312.58.
  • Japanese Yen (JPY): PKR gained 0.94 paisa, closing at 1.7447 versus 1.7541 a day earlier.
  • Chinese Yuan (CNY): PKR appreciated by 1.18 paisa, closing at 38.37 against 38.36.
  • Saudi Riyal (SAR): PKR increased by 3.19 paisa, closing at 74.27 compared to 74.24.
  • U.A.E Dirham (AED): PKR saw a gain of 2.74 paisa, closing at 75.83 from 75.86.

Yearly Performance

During the current financial year, the PKR has appreciated against the dollar by 7.37 rupees, representing a 2.64% increase. The current calendar year has seen a PKR appreciation of 3.24 rupees or 1.16%.

Money Market

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6-month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates remained unchanged at 19.86% and 20.11%, respectively.
