PAKISTANI RUPEE EXCHANGE RATES: The Pakistani rupee (PKR) weakened slightly by 12.44 paisa, or 0.04%, against the US dollar in Monday’s interbank market, closing at PKR 277.64 per USD, compared to the previous closing of PKR 277.52. During the session, the rupee fluctuated, reaching an intraday high of 277.75 and a low of 277.65.
In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at PKR 278.25 for buying and PKR 279.84 for selling.
Performance Against Other Major Currencies:
- Euro (EUR): PKR appreciated by 1.47 rupees, closing at PKR 304.48, down from PKR 305.95.
- British Pound (GBP): PKR strengthened by 1.5 rupees, closing at PKR 363.89 compared to the previous value of PKR 365.39.
- Swiss Franc (CHF): PKR gained 1.87 rupees, closing at PKR 323.69 from PKR 325.55.
- Japanese Yen (JPY): PKR appreciated by 2.23 paisa, closing at PKR 1.8727 against PKR 1.895.
- Chinese Yuan (CNY): PKR gained 1.77 paisa, closing at PKR 39.56, slightly up from PKR 39.54.

Money Market:
In the money market, the 6-month Karachi Interbank Bid (KIBOR) and Offer (KIBOR) rates edged down by 1 basis point (bps) to 14.44% and 14.69%, respectively.
