Total trading volume for the KSE-100 Index was 190.60 million shares. Out of the 100 companies listed on the index, 28 closed higher, 66 ended lower, 4 remained unchanged, and 2 stocks were not traded.

TOP LOSERS AND GAINERS

Top losers of the day included GLAXO (-5.43%), AGP (-4.42%), KEL (-4.22%), IBFL (-4.08%), and MTL (-3.80%). Conversely, the top gainers were YOUW (+12.38%), CNERGY (+5.01%), PIBTL (+4.70%), PAEL (+3.29%), and NRL (+3.06%).

SECTORAL PERFORMANCE

Sector-wise, the KSE-100 Index was negatively impacted by Fertilizer (-173.33 points), Commercial Banks (-89.37 points), Power Generation & Distribution (-75.84 points), Pharmaceuticals (-58.35 points), and Automobile Assembler (-57.50 points). The index saw support from sectors such as Refinery (+18.59 points), Oil & Gas Marketing Companies (+14.36 points), Cable & Electrical Goods (+11.10 points), Transport (+6.69 points), and Technology & Communication (+6.18 points).

BROAD MARKET INDICATORS

The broader market All-Share Index closed at 50,326.52, reflecting a net loss of 271.95 points or 0.54%. The total market volume stood at 591.51 million shares, an increase from the previous session, while the traded value was Rs17.12 billion, showing a decline of Rs1.78 billion.

In total, 254,195 trades were reported across 434 companies, with 163 closing higher, 220 closing lower, and 51 remaining unchanged.

ANNUAL AND FISCAL YEAR PERFORMANCE

As of now, the KSE-100 Index has recorded a loss of 361 points or 0.46% for the fiscal year. However, the calendar year has seen a significant gain of 15,633 points, which translates to a 25.03% increase.
