Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced a significant reduction in electricity tariffs for the industrial sector on Friday, as reported by state-run Radio Pakistan. The electricity price has been lowered by Rs10.69 per unit under the Prime Minister’s historic power package aimed at bolstering the country’s industry.

With this reduction, the electricity tariff for the industry and export sector has been set at Rs34.99 per unit. This initiative is part of a comprehensive package expected to provide over Rs200 billion in relief to industries, enhancing their competitiveness in the global market.

The Prime Minister’s power package aims to reduce the cost of production for industrial and agricultural products, thereby significantly boosting exports. This measure is expected to foster a more conducive environment for growth and development in Pakistan’s industrial sector.
